Holidays

Well I was able to make the drive to Stockton for the holidays. I had a good time seeing everyone. I worked through new years basically forgot about it until it had passed.

Work is still going fine and I am still enjoying the impact I make here.

I have also gotten into a couple of websites recently, Facebook and Meetup. Facebook is a lot like Linkedin but for more social networking. So I'm working on connecting with old friends. Meetup is a great way to find groups with similar interests. So far I have joined a bookclub and gaming club.

The first book club assignment is "Three Cups of Tea" which is about what I have been saying since 2002 the way to win the "War on Terror" is to win hearts and minds to give the most destitute in the world hope for children by getting them healthcare.

I've still got my 8700 blackberry I've now added facebook to it. The latest version of googlemaps supports a bluetooth USB receiever so I have oredered one I am looking forward to having true GPS as opposed to triangulation.

I also have completed one shift of my new volunteer job at NextStep recycling refurbishing donated computers for schools and shelters. It was a lot more manual labor then I imagined and I have not done that kind of work in a long time. It was interesting to get back into PC building.
