Not fun! I have a sinus infection. It is causing a very bad throbbing pain whenever I try and lie down. As a result I cannot sleep, even after taking medicine. AO is patching right now and I have checked out my other haunts so I'm going to update.
I filed for Graduation on Monday. My classes are still going well, but they require a lot of reading. Something else that is hard to do when it feels like your getting hit in the side of your head with a hammer.
I did some more research and found a place to get the last of the loans I need to go to Grad school in England. I did some research too and discovered they respond to you within 2 weeks to let you know if you are in or not. I think I'm going to wait to apply till I have my final grades.
I still have to get my grad packet for Chico state ready by March 1st though.
Damn this hurts...
To the shuttle disaster, it was a tragedy, accidents happen though. Although, I hope the country will look rationally on the continuation of manned space travel. I like the idea in a romantic sense. In reality though, it does not do much but allow America to prove to the world we can hit you with a missile any where on the planet. Even NASA admits the technology gained from space is not from experiments in space, it comes from technology to get things into space.
From what I have read so far... The shuttle was launched with brand new type of tiles that were an improvement over the old ones cause they needed less. Also the shuttle was supposed to have a fuel tank replaced that was over 20 years old replaced before the launch. This did not happen. I'm thinking, the insulation, hit the new tiles that were not designed with this concern in mind. Although, these tiles might have been built with the assumption of a modern fuel tank design. So what you get is a situation where a newer tank might have held to the pressure that the old one did not, resulting in catastrophic failure. But that is just a working theory.
man this hurts! For the record Advil and Aspirin don't effect the pain
I memorized my part in Rob's chev last night and am looking forward to going and getting a haircut.
My future economics class is very enlightening. Right now we are studying patent laws and how they hurt technological and economic development. The coolest thing I have learned so far is that arms sales are the U.S. number one export. Therefore without a huge military budget, our economy would be SOL. Our next biggest export is Intellectual property. Neither of these things are actually good for the world...
I hope the UN calls Powell a liar today...
Sorry for the small amount of links today. I just didn't feel the need to post a bunch of space disater links...
