Well it was a productive weekend. I'm down to one short paper to write. Although, I still don't have a topic. I'm banking on being motivated in class Tuesday. I also need to edit 3 of my papers this week but that is no big deal. Spring Break starts Friday. I went out on Friday night and had a good time. So far this has been my most social semester by far. I also got my Grad packet in the mail, my graduation will be 5/24 at 9am! That's gonna be rough. I'm hoping to graduate Magna Cum Laude, although I should be Cum Laude for sure.
I watched the meet the press today and saw another Bush Lie revealed. I'm sure everyone remember Bush claiming that Saddam had been trying to purchase Uranium less then 6 months ago in Kenya? Well Dr. Rice admitted that there source was wrong, then went on to lie and say the administration never depended on that evidence!
Oh and in case I never mentioned my two cents on medical malpractice insurance... This is another case where the media has been bought and is not telling the whole story. The reason medical malpractice insurance is so high is NOT because of jury awards! On the contrary it is because rates are not adjusted for performance! All doctors pay the same rates in their area and profession no matter how many times they have been sued or disciplined for medical malpractice! If insurance companies did this they could substantially lower rates and at the same time force bad doctors out of practicing medicine since they would no longer be able to afford insurance. The reason insurance companies operate this way is they make more money with this system. Think about auto insurance, if the system was equivalent to medical malpractice insurance everyone would have to pay the same rates as a 16 year old with a DUI on his record. Clearly the insurance companies make lots of money this way, since most people do not drive or practice medicine like a 16 year old with a DUI.
I might update one more time before break...
The first link, is an example of what is going to happen to every third world economy when the US starts the invasion of Iraq. When oil prices surge, its going to put an unbearable strain on the already weak 3rd world economies. I have heard some economists predict a 1,000 point drop on the DOJ.
