Time to do my usual last update before I have to change the journal page to a new month. I got to see my grades... All A's except for a B+ in Intro to IR. Every semester I have a professor who decides they don't like me and need to punish me without telling me why... GRR!!! I also submitted my graduation verification to Sussex and should send them transcripts this week. I got together all my paperwork for my passport too.
Trent and Heathers Wedding was awesome I had a lot of fun. I saw a lot of people I thought I had lost contact with already and this time exchanged better contact info. It was also the best-catered food I had ever had!
I also submitted my request for a trial by written declaration for my speeding ticket. Its interesting that only the actual citation mentions the right to a trial by correspondence and the courtesy notice from the court does not mention it at all. If I were rich I might sue San Joaquin County for violation of due process.
Going to Chico for the first time in a month was also interesting. It will probably be one of the last times I go. The city really lost a lot of its appeal now that I have no motive to want to be there... The drive to and from also made me realize that "Californication" by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers is my second favorite song. I could listen to it non-stop for hours.
In the news I wanted to point out another Bush contradiction. Does anyone else find it odd that it is morally reprehensible for humans to play God with Cloning and Stem Cells for humans, and then at the same time he supports genetically modified foods? They are all God's creatures...
Also as the recall effort against Gray Davis picks up steam, I just wanted to go on the record as saying its money poorly spent. Even if they are successful they have no one to beat Davis. Simon lost, people don't elect losers. Davis is also no worse then any other slime bag politician trying to get him out of office and if you are thinking about the power crisis I would urge you to read The Best Democracy Money can Buy by Greg Palast. His chapter entitled "California Reamin" explains Davis was a victim of circumstances.
I also read a VERY astonishing review by John B. Williamson of "Social Security: The Phony Crisis" by Dean Baker and Mark Weisbrot. In it we learn that Social Security is not facing a crisis and the right is just trying to find new money to bolster the economy and conclusively shows that even if there is going to be a shortage, removing money from the trust fund hurts seniors today rather then in the future. Check it out.

A new Quote today I saw I really liked "I would like to be able to love my country, and justice too." ~ Albert Camus
The third link is on the Recent Supreme Court ruling on Affirmative action. It sums up my feelings very well. With the exception that they leave out the fact that since white people have the power now, and since most good jobs and education are gained through networking this really makes it hard for minorities to break in because socially America is still a VERY segregated society.
