9/11/02 a Year later.

Here we are one year later. When I woke up a year ago and saw those towers collapse, I was shocked. The next thought I had was, they are going to burn for this and they have.

Here we are one year later though. For me personally 9/11 brought war home to me. Before, these attacks I was not all that considered with modern international relations/policy. I just assumed like most Americans that things were good here. Our government was doing what was necessary with the rest of the world and it was all good.

A Year later I now believe I understand why we were attacked and why the world hates America. Osma Bin Laden wanted America to burn for the enslavement of his people by the Saudi Royal Family who is kept in Power by the U.S. Government. The world hates America because we consistently place Brutal dictators in power to stabilize a region for our corporations. In most cases we oust people who meant to do good for their own country. Although, the good for them was not good for us so they had to go. That is why the world hates us. If we attack Iraq we will just be doing more of the same.

A year later I believe the true tragedy of 9/11 is that these attacks have instilled Blind Patriotism in the American People that could be called Faith. This Faith will blind Americans to any kind of understanding of why these attacks occurred. All people will be able to think about is the falling towers and 3,000 dead people. I am truly sorry all those people died last year. However, if America ever wants to stop the attacks, it has to decide to change its foreign policy and give up the notion these attacks were done out of jealousy.
