America will not be attacked again!

At the beginning of the semester someone told me that they believed the U.S. government/Military allowed the attacks on September 11th to happen.

Before the attack on 9/11 Bush was in a pissing contest with he Chinese, the economy was not doing well the government was in deficit, and the reparations debate was heating up. Then we were attacked and that all went away. So there is the motive.

So even with a motive how could this have happened? Well there are 2 scenarios' that could have happened to allow the 9/11 attacks to happen. The first and popular option is that the Alqueda is an incredibly intelligent, rich, and organized, was able to beat the Billion Dollar budgets of the CIA and FBI, and all there experts and agents to carry out these attacks. Today we know that several agents in the FBI and CIA had brought up the possibility of attacks on America with Commercial Aircraft. The FBI even had an informant living with some of the high jackers. And that is just what we have been told about. So we are dumb and they are there smart. This option is terrifying to me, since it leaves a lot of room for another attack.

Option #2, The CIA and FBI knew about the attack and allowed them to happen with or without the consent of President Bush, allowing this fundamentalist group to crash planes into American civilians in order to empower the Bush administration. In this case, we can rest assured there will not be any more attacks unless Bush starts to slip badly in the polls.

As much as I don't want to believe option #2 it is much more likely, because in this case the billion-dollar budget of the US intelligence agencies beat the rag tag terrorist groups. But, at least we can feel safe for a while.

Lastly, Joe citizen cannot predict or prevent terrorist attacks, so why go crazy with worry? Live life as usual, and remember shit happens.
