Movie Censorship

So I was watching the world news last night and every channel ran a story on this and I could not believe it! There are now companies that digitally remaster home movies to take any sex, profanity, or violence out of them! I cannot express in words how outraged I was to hear this. Several directors have filed lawsuits against these film-editing companies and I hope they win. The reason I am so pissed off is that this is another example of censorship by the people; over things they just don't appreciate.

For instance one of the families interviewed who used this service was family in Utah that looked like they were Mormon and they had the matrix changed so no cussing, sex, or violence was in the movie. My problem with that is, why the HELL did a Mormon buy the Matrix! The movie is Atheist in its very nature; so if you are so offended by the content, just don't watch the movie. However, DO NOT change it just to meet your own tastes, you destroy the artistic intent and miss the whole point and power of the picture. Next they'll want Fight club without the fights or Marla. The bottom line here is the world is not going to change for you as an individual and so you should not expect it to and who the fuck do you think you are to deface works created by people far more talented then you will ever be. I'm not arguing that movies don't have violence and porn in excess. Although, I do believe the Directors put it there for a reason and it should be respected as pat of their art. I do believe though that American censors are WAY to liberal when it comes to the amount of violence allowed on in the media, something that is intrinsically wrong and bad to do and WAY to Conservative about sex and nudity which are natural parts of life.
