Dirty Hands by, John Paul Sartre

So I just finished reading this book and I had to update immediately. This is a book about the struggle of a young intellectual grappling with his place in a time of revolution. He is conflicted on how to apply the theories in his mind. The book also deals with political parties in times of revolution and their methods. I HIGHLY recommend this book, to any young radical intellectual.

The following are my Favorite quotes.

""I prefer people who fear the death of others: it shows they know how to live."

The next two quotes were together in a startling way.

"Being an intellectual, you can't keep from thinking. Before pulling the trigger you would have already seen all the possible consequences of your act: the work of a lifetime in ruins, a policy gone to pot, nobody to replace me, the party condemned, maybe, never to take power."

"...you can't drop a man in cold blood unless your a specialist... Your real killer has no notion of what the other is thinking. But you have a very good notion."

"The best work is not the work that takes the most sacrifices. It's the work in which you can best succeed."
